Now that you've taken the time to think about your favorite things based on all your senses, refer to yesterday's list and focus on the feelings that are generated when you read each one.
What emotions or feelings come up for you? Of those, which would you like to cultivate more of?
For example, from my list, when I think about one of my favorite scents being "my husband's cologne" it evokes feelings of love which is definitely an emotion that I'd like to cultivate more of!
The purpose of this exercise is to shift your awareness from all the "things" in our lives that we think bring us happiness and expand that awareness to the small gestures or intangibles that evoke positive emotions. Once these emotions are brought to your attention, you can take consistent action to create them more frequently!
