INTERMISSION™: It's Okay to Not Know
A short, sweet and incredibly profound message this morning from Journey to the Heart by Melodie Beattie.
One line in particular really stood out. So much so that I read it twice!
"Sometimes the process of learning to trust, the process of going through an experience and coming to trust that we will ultimately discover our own truth, is more important than knowing." Whoa.
Discovering your own truth is one of the most powerful yet peaceful human experiences.
We learn from one another. Xo
INTERMISSION™: Do Better
We can do better.
And the beauty of being human is that we get another chance in every moment to do just that.
With all the violence, chaos and unrest in the world particularly in the US at this time, can we make a different choice?
Can we view everyone as a beautiful soul?
Can we meet everyone where they are?
Can we find a path to peace within ourselves so that we can go forth in peace?
I know we can.
Let's do it.
In love, kindness and compassion.
All it takes is one person, one gesture of kindness, one unkind word left unsaid, one harmful action left undone that will shift the collective.
We learn from one another. Xo
INTERMISSION™: The Beauty & Magic of a Single Flower
A flower that sits on a table in my home.
It was a gift from someone special so it holds even more meaning.
This single flower holds the magic and majesty of nature.🏵️ If you think about it, what did it take for that flower to grow?
Who planted the seed?
Who fed and watered it?
How many hours of sunlight were required for it to sprout, to grow, to bloom? 🌱
How many hands touched it before it made its way to me?
It's pretty profound to think of all the flowers that grow and do their thing without worry or anxiety or fear they're doing something wrong.
They know to grow and bloom.
We have the same ability. To surrender into who we're meant to be.
As Eckhart Tolle says in his book The Power of Now, "to relinquish inner resistance to what is."
And in The New Earth, to "appreciate something simple - a sight, a sound, a touch - when you see beauty, when you feel loving kindness toward another, sense the inner spaciousness that is the source and the background to that experience." then being is bliss.
Doesn't that feel easier?
Isn't that simpler?
We make it harder than it needs to be.
Look at a flower and take in its beauty, complexity and magic while feeling how easy it is to be exactly what you're meant to be when you surrender to what it, to who you are and allow life to unfold as it's meant to be.
(if even for a few minutes a day 😊)! Let me know what you think about the nature of flowers... We learn from one another. Xo
INTERMISSION™: Respond Instead of Reacting
How many of you tend to launch a defensive attack when you feel someone has wronged you? ✋ Um, yeah. Me too.
It was very much a part life when my marriage was falling apart.
He would say or do something that I perceived as an attack or caused pain within me and I'd react immediately from that place of pain which then led to a bigger conflict that was often left unresolved.
Had I taken a moment to breathe and look at WHY I was feeling what I was feeling and RESPOND from that place instead of reacting, I'd likely have seen that oftentimes it had little to do with him and more to do with a wound within me that needed some love and attention.
If we're able to see that relationships are our mirrors and make a conscious choice to take responsibility for how we respond in those moments when we're emotionally stirred up, we'd likely not escalate a small disagreement into an all out war! 🤯
Give it a try next time someone upsets you.
See if you're able to take a breath and respond instead of reacting from a place of pain inside yourself.
You may be pleasantly surprised how empowering it feels to change the pattern.
Let me know how it goes... We learn from one another. Xo
INTERMISSION™: Stoic Sunday Mother's Day Message :)
We wouldn't be here without ya!
For the first time ever I am not with my kiddos on this day. Feels so strange and a little sad.
BUT I also feel so incredibly blessed to be a mom to them and to be (virtually) surrounded by friends, family and clients whom I adore and who adore me! 💕
I don't usually get Mother's Day messages from many outside of my kids and maybe besties on this day but somehow my people know and have shown up for me today.
I am one lucky 🍀 grateful 🙏gal!
And in keeping with the Stoic Sunday theme, here are a few Stoic thoughts 💭 with mothers in mind:
🔸Get comfortable with discomfort.
This begins early on in pregnancy, labor/delivery, early childhood and keeps right on going into THEIR adulthood!
🔸Accept what you can't control.
At some point along the way you can't control who they hang out with, what interests they have or where they want to live so you might as well accept it and support them on whatever path they choose.
🔸Persevere with courage and without complaint.
Again, early on in their lives we're put in a position to do just that. The no complaint part may not be as readily seen (at least in my case 😂) but as moms we persevere and courageously do what needs to be done.
Whether you're a mom, dad or neither, these also apply to you but for different reasons obviously.
Where in your life have you had to persevere with courage or accept what you can't control?
INTERMISSION™: Your Relationship With the Moon
I know today is Relationship Thursday and I said I'd be sharing insight sheets all about YOU....
But the Universe had a different plan for us today! 🌝 There is a Full Moon today and it felt like a perfect day to talk about the moon and how you can nurture a relationship with La Luna. 🎑
Just like the moon affecting the tides, she also affects us in the same way being that we're mostly water.
Each time the moon shifts into a new constellation, the energy shifts. We shift.
With each constellation there is a different energy.
Right now, we're in Libra...all about balance.
We'll soon be moving into Scorpio...all about desire.
(*I follow the Jyotish (Vedic) system...bit different from Tropical so the constellations I refer to will not necessarily be the same as what you'll see elsewhere.) So as the moon moves, our moods change and move along with her.
How can we develop a deeper connection with the moon?
By paying attention to her cycles and how they pertain to us.
How do we feel each day?
Notice the patterns. Make conscious choices to shift them based on what feels good.
Allow your relationship with the moon to grow and expand as you do and you'll find its easier than you thought it would be.
Remember we learn from one another so please share with anyone who's interested in the moon... And let me know what sort of relationship you have with that beautiful, powerful, energetic rock in the sky! .
INTERMISSION™: Embrace the High & Low
Past couple days have been spent talking about low vibe emotions like blame, shame, fear and worry.
🥺 We don't like those.
We run from those. 🏃
📺 We look for an escape route like Netflix, alcohol or drugs.
They are uncomfortable and create an imbalance within us.
⚛️ Let's play the WHAT IF Game.... What if we thought of them as a little nudge from a friend reminding us there's a part of us that needs some attention?
What if these emotions are showing up to guide us to a beautiful golden path that we would have otherwise missed if we were skipping along the well worn one?
What if leaned into the feelings of unease to learn why the feelings are there and radically accept them?
Who knows...we may learn something new about ourselves which allows us to make a different choice ultimately supporting our growth and evolution.
That sounds pretty amazing to me.
What do you think? 🏵️
What if during those times of stress and anxiety, we pause.
Take a deep breath. Maybe a few.
Recall a #F*ckYeahDay and really feel it...like you're right back there! (Big smile at the ready!)
And say either to yourself or out loud: I radically accept where I am right now.
Say it three times to really lock it in. And do this as often as needed in the day without judgment.
You'll be amazed how the energy will shift and things will unfold.
We learn from one another....
INTERMISSION™: Fear, Worry & Shame...Oh, my!
I know. I know.
Bear with me on this... A quite powerful book that looks at emotions and how to release those that aren't serving you and are potentially creating issues in your body is The Emotion Code by Dr. Bradley Nelson.
I was intuitively guided to fear, worry and shame as the top three emotions that are affecting us as a global community right now.
But here's the thing...these emotions can be real or imagined.
What I mean by that is, yes, you may be worried about a loved one getting sick.
If he/she is destined to become ill, he/she will.
Does your worry help that person? Does it help you? Does it change the outcome?
No to all three questions.
So is your worry real or not real?
Well, the worry is real but the subject of worry is not.
Can you make a different choice?
Can you look at why you're worrying?
Is it more about control than worry?
What's it about?
You might be surprised what answers you receive and how much better you'll feel once you shift out of these low vibrational emotional states.
And don't "worry" 🤣, we're going to be moving up the emotional ladder to some higher vibes tomorrow! 😁
Remember, we all learn from one another. Let me know which of the emotions mentioned is showing up most for you right now and how you're
